The College Essay is an opportunity for students to articulate themselves on their own terms, a process rooted in self-discovery as they view their identity through the lens of essay prompts.

Our initial session will identify an authentic topic through conversation and free-writing, allowing your student to see their voice on the page while uncovering the hooks that stand out from their own stories and ideas.

This kind of story-excavating is beneficial for students to understand their motivations and goals, which can generate a healthy interest in the success of this essay. The writing process itself is a way for teens to weave a strong braid of purpose, propelling them forward on the college path.

Working with your student, I am sure to hold space for what’s important to them while guiding them towards topics that are appropriate. In the end, they will put forward an essay that is authentic, engaging, and well-crafted, presenting a student who is ready to contribute to a college community!

Rates

Initial Session: $350 (1 hour and 15 minutes)

This session is where I get to know your student and guide them towards a topic of their choosing. We will also begin an outline or draft.

*If this process is underway already, then our Initial Session will be reviewing any outlines or drafts to see where we can make progress and adjustments.

Follow-Up Sessions: $220/hour

Follow-Ups are for outlining, writing, and editing - the real magic! Students are encouraged to work on drafts in between sessions if they are able to. When we meet, we will fine-tune the writing until the student has a polished essay that they can be proud of.
